IRAN kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) girls’ football competition alive with a 1-0 win over Papua New Guinea last night. A 2-4 defeat by Turkey in their opening Group A encounter had left Shahrzad Mozafar’s side needing at least a draw to avoid an early exit.

MOSCOW (Russia) - IRAN’S first nuclear power plant, being built by Russia in the southern city of Bushehr, will formally launch next week, a spokesman for the Russian atomic agency told AFP on Friday. ‘The fuel will be charged in the reactor on August 21. From this moment, Bushehr will be considered a nuclear installation,’ Rosatom spokesman Sergei Novikov said.
